The police’s counterterrorism squad has captured two other terrorist suspects alive in Solo, Central Java.
One of them was arrested on Wednesday, while the other one on Thursday morning in a raid on a warehouse in Bakipandean, Baki district, Sukoharjo, Central Java.

No shooting was heard during the raid, kompas.com reported.
The police had captured 17 terrorist suspects alive as of Wednesday and shot dead five others in a series of raids conducted in Cikampek, West Java and Cawang, East Jakarta, since last week.

National Police’s antiterrorism squad left Adi Soemarmo airport in Solo, Central Java, for Jakarta on Thursday, accompanying three terrorist suspects they captured in a raid in Sukoharjo.

the country’s leaders and ordinary fellows that strong leadership was in line with a daring decision-making process.
It is not that easy as she was enveloped by pressed time and limited data. She knew that wrong measures risked causing the country’s economy to collapse.
Her action approving the bailout of Bank Century ultimately runs on the right track. Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remain strong. No capital flight is leaving this country. While her opponents may be pessimistic, her decision revealed more about her concern than her ego for this nation.
Rather than receiving a reward to prevent this country from arriving at the fringe of economic turbulence, the House compensates her in an endless political and legal process.
So, is it wrong as she moves to a place in which she enjoys much more promising respect and where her leadership will not be debated?
Second, her capability, together with her decisions, belongs to and is bolstered by the world.
She is an international figure residing in a country whose politicians love bullying. The Bank Century issue, placing Mulyani and Vice President Boediono as scapegoats, close many House members’ eyes her above-average attainment in fiercely exercising control over the state finance.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee's (OC) Volunteer Department will this weekend start the process of training the 18,000 volunteers who will assist the OC and host cities with the delivery of Africa’s first FIFA World Cup.
The OC’s Volunteer Programme initially received 67,999 volunteer applications from over 170 countries and after an intensive interview and screening process have now completed the process of finalising the OC, host city and Football For Hope Festival volunteer numbers required for Africa’s first FIFA World Cup.

Over the coming month, volunteers will undergo three days of training in each host city, starting Friday, March 12 in Johannesburg and Mbombela. They will be given general tournament, as well as area-specific, training in their functional areas, which range from administration, spectator services, broadcasting, marketing, IT, media, transport, ticketing and more.

They will also undergo ‘Know your Country’ and ‘Know your City’ training, as well as a motivational session where groups of between 900 and 2,600 volunteers per session will learn how to do SA Tourism’s popular Diski Dance. International volunteers selected will undergo an online training process.

“We’re confident the infrastructure required for the 2010 FIFA World Cup is now in place and our focus is very much on the day-to-day delivery of the tournament,” said the OC’s CEO Dr Danny Jordaan in a statement. The massive 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile may have changed the entire Earth's rotation and shortened the length of days on our planet, a NASA scientist said Monday.The quake, the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 milliseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

"Perhaps more impressive is how much the quake shifted Earth's axis," NASA officials said in a Monday update.

The computer model used by Gross and his colleagues to determine the effects of the Chile earthquake effect also found that it should have moved Earth's figure axis by about 3 inches (8 cm or 27 milliarcseconds).

The Earth's figure axis is not the same as its north-south axis, which it spins around once every day at a speed of about 1,000 mph (1,604 kph).

The figure axis is the axis around which the Earth's mass is balanced. It is offset from the Earth's north-south axis by about 33 feet (10 meters).

Strong earthquakes have altered Earth's days and its axis in the past. The 9.1 Sumatran earthquake in 2004, which set off a deadly tsunami, should have shortened Earth's days by 6.8 microseconds and shifted its axis by about 2.76 inches (7 cm, or 2.32 milliarcseconds).

One Earth day is about 24 hours long. Over the course of a year, the length of a day normally changes gradually by one millisecond. It increases in the winter, when the Earth rotates more slowly, and decreases in the summer, Gross has said in the past.

The Chile earthquake was much smaller than the Sumatran temblor, but its effects on the Earth are larger because of its location. Its epicenter was located in the Earth's mid-latitudes rather than near the equator like the Sumatran event.

The fault responsible for the 2010 Chile quake also slices through Earth at a steeper angle than the Sumatran quake's fault, NASA scientists said.

"This makes the Chile fault more effective in moving Earth's mass vertically and hence more effective in shifting Earth's figure axis," NASA officials said.

Gross said his findings are based on early data available on the Chile earthquake. As more information about its characteristics are revealed, his prediction of its effects will likely change.

The Chile earthquake has killed more than 700 people and caused widespread devastation in the South American country.

Several major telescopes in Chile's Atacama Desert have escaped damage, according to the European Southern Observatory managing them.

A salt-measuring NASA satellite instrument destined to be installed on an Argentinean satellite was also undamaged in the earthquake, JPL officials said.

The Aquarius instrument was in the city of Bariloche, Argentina, where it is being installed in the Satelite de Aplicaciones Cientificas (SAC-D) satellite. The satellite integration facility is about 365 miles (588 km) from the Chile quake's epicenter.

The Aquarius instrument is designed to provide monthly global maps of the ocean's salt concentration in order to track current circulation and its role in climate change.

Drogba subsequently removed himself from contention for future African awards to protest CAF’s insistence on nominees attending the ceremony.
But in an interview with Chelsea TV, which will be broadcast later on Friday, the 31-year-old forward said he spoke to CAF president Issa Hayatou and the disagreement has been resolved.
“That was the past,” Drogba said. “We all sat down and spoke about it, Mr. Hayatou and the people from the Ivory Coast Federation, so I think everything is good now.”

MADRID, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has an inflamed muscle in his left leg that will sideline the French international for about seven days,
the La Liga club said on their website on Tuesday (www.realmadrid.com).
Real play at Xerez in La Liga on Saturday and their Champions League last 16 match at Benzema’s former club Olympique Lyon is next Tuesday.

Tips For Better Sleep

Like millions of other Americans, I often have trouble with insomnia — either I can't fall asleep, or I awake prematurely and am unable to get back to sleep.
The following sleep tips, compiled from various sources, may prove helpful to some of my fellow insomniacs.

Only use your bed for sleeping or having sex, not for reading, doing paperwork, watching TV, snacking, or making phone calls.
If you've been lying in bed but are beginning to fear you're not going to drop off, try some of these techniques: Count sheep or count backwards from 100 (one of my favorites) to stop yourself from thinking about the problems of yesterday or tomorrow; breathe deeply for awhile; or visualize some peaceful place.
If you can't get to sleep after lying in bed for 30 minutes or more, get up for awhile. What to do? Try reading something incredibly boring.
Develop a bedtime routine.
Keep regular bedtime hours.
Before bedtime, avoid tobacco and caffeinated beverages (not just coffee, but other drinks like tea, cola, and Dr. Pepper).
Avoid alcohol right before bedtime — a nightcap might get your mind fuzzy enough to put you to sleep, but such sleep may be interrupted by periods of awakening. By contrast, the stress-lowering effect of a drink with dinner may help to promote sleep later.
Avoid naps (or falling asleep in front of boring TV programs, as I do).
Try to get up at the same time every day rather than sleeping in on weekends.
Exercise every day, but not shortly before bedtime since exercise gets the adrenaline going.
If you use an illuminated clock for a wakeup alarm, place it where you can't keep looking at it to check the time.
Buy a firm mattress and keep your bedroom well ventilated (a cool temperature works best for me).
And you might also try some of these: a warm bath, warm milk, light bedtime snack, massage, or quiet music (which turns itself off automatically).
Use earplugs for extreme quiet.
If you have a painful joint or a headache, take a pain pill before bedtime (but be sure it doesn't contain caffeine).
Avoid stimulating reading or television shows late at night.

If the insomnia stubbornly persists, check with your doctor to make sure some underlying health problem (such as depression, anxiety, hyperthyroidism, heart failure, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) isn't keeping you awake. If all is well, you might ask for one of the several types of prescription sleeping pills that can be useful in the short term.
